HEARTS II Project Support

14 October to 31 December 2024

Background

Save the Children promotes children’s opportunities to act to improve their own lives through an enabled civil society. We believe that in their role of holding states to account, civil society organizations would enable and support children to participate in governance as active citizens and agents for bringing about positive change in their societies.

HEARTS II project is leading the work on a whole-school approach to promote SOGIESC inclusion, and advocacy through the Universal Periodic Review. We are looking for a consultant to take on the role of Project Support (part-time) to support the work of HEARTS II project from14 October to 31 December 2024.

Duties, Responsibilities and Scope of Work:

Support the work in the schools	Coordinate with the schools regarding the seed grants process and monitor selected schools closely. Prepare and co-facilitate workshops with the schools (i.e., students, teachers, parents) to implement measures for SOGIESC inclusion	Report of seed grants activities with the selected schools
Support the establishment of the network for SOGIESC-inclusive education	Support and co-facilitate activities with children, teachers, parents in order to establish the network for SOGIESC-inclusive education Support and co-facilitate public awareness-raising activities with parents and/or children	Update of activities plan and progress report
UPR Mid-term Report with the Government	Support the planning of the UPR mid-term report dissemination event (e.g., logistical and administrative tasks)	Report of the UPR mid-term report dissemination event

Management:

This position will report to SOGIESC and Child Rights Expert and Project Coordinator.

Time frame:

14 October to 31 December 2024 (approximately 8-11 working days per month). This position may require working on weekends in accord to the work plan.

Payment and price:

Payment

Fixed daily rate for each day of work. Payment will be made upon the receipt of an invoice for actual working days with completion of each report. Other costs related to the project activities, such as transportation costs, are reimbursable in accordance with SCT's financial policy. The consultant is liable to pay income tax.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Arts, Business Administration, or related fields.
Good working knowledge in Thai. Good communication in English is desirable but not required.
Good computer skills (MS Office).
Previous experience in working with children or schools preferred.
Good understanding on gender equality and diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC). Ability to conduct workshops on SOGIESC rights is highly desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team setting.
