ตำแหน่งนี้นี้ต้องการผู้ที่มีความรู้และประสบการณ์ในงานด้านการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูภูมิทัศน์ป่าไม้ และการจัดการพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ แบบมีส่วนร่วม การเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือขององค์กรและหน่วยงานของผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสีย และชุมชนท้องถิ่น ในการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูทรัพยากรป่าไม้ และความหลากหลายทางธรรมชาติของพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ ที่สามารถวัดผลและติดตามประเมินผลของการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูพื้นที่ป่าบุ่งป่าทาม และที่ถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ป่า ตลอดจนบูรณาการกิจกรรมการอนุรักษ์และใช้ประโยชน์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ ที่เกื้อกูลและสอดคล้องต่อวิถีการดำรงชีวิตที่ยั่งยืนของชุมชนท้องถิ่น

หน้าที่หลัก

ภายใต้การดูแลของผู้จัดการโครงการอาวุโส เจ้าหน้าที่โครงการ จะประสานงานและดำเนินกิจกรรมโครงการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูความหลากหลายทางทางชีวภาพ ในพื้นที่ลุ่มน้ำสงครามตอนล่าง โครงการนี้มีเป้าหมายในการ อนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ ป่าบุ่งป่าทาง โดยการฟื้นฟูระบบนิเวศป่าไม้ ถิ่นที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์น้ำ สัตว์ป่า การสนับสนุนการจัดการพื้นที่คุ้มครองและพื้นที่ RAMSAR site การสนับสนุนหน่ยวงานที่เกี่ยวข้องในการกำหนด พื้นที่คุ้มครองเพิ่มเติม และพื้นที่ๆมีศักยภาพในการอนุรักษ์และฟื้นฟูความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพนอกเขตพื้นที่คุ้มครอง ที่สอดคล้องกับมาตรการอนุรักษ์พื้นที่เชิงพื้นที่อื่น ๆ (OECMs) และรวมถึงการ สนับสนุนหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง ในการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ การจัดการทรัพยากร ป่าไม้ พื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ และสัตว์ป่า แบบมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน และหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง

หน้าที่และความรับผิดชอบหลัก:

• สำรวจข้อมูลภาคสนาม เพื่อรวบรวมข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพและโอกาสในการฟื้นฟูทรัพยากรป่าไม้ สัตว์ป่าในระบบนิเวศพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ ลุ่มน้ำสงครามตอนล่าง
• ดำเนินการหรือจัดการการประเมินหรือการตรวจสอบความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพทางน้ำและทางบก
• วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยได้รับการสนับสนุนจากผู้จัดการโครงการเพื่อระบุโอกาสในการฟื้นฟูระบบนิเวศที่คงไว้หรือเพิ่มการเชื่อมโยงและความสมบูรณ์ของแม่น้ำ ป่า และพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ
• ประสานงานกับชุมชนท้องถิ่น หน่วยงานรัฐ องค์กรพัฒนาเอกชน และผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียอื่น ๆในการพัฒนาแผนฟื้นฟูความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ ลุ่มน้ำสงครามตอนล่าง
• ทำงานร่วมกับผู้นำชุมชนท้องถิ่นและหน่วยงานรัฐบาล (กรมป่าไม้ กรมประมง กรมทรัพยากรน้ำ ฯลฯ) ในการพัฒนาแผนงานอนุรักษ์ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ และดำเนินกิจกรรมฟื้นฟูป่า และพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำ โดยการมีส่วนร่วมจากชุมชนท้องถิ่น
• สนับสนุนผู้จัดการโครงการในการพัฒนาแผนงานกิจกรรมโครงการ

คุณสมบัติ:

• ปริญญาตรีในสาขาชีววิทยาการอนุรักษ์ การจัดการป่าไม้ พื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำหรือสิ่งแวดล้อม วิทยาศาสตร์สิ่งแวดล้อม หรือสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้อง
• มีความเข้าใจในนิเวศวิทยาป่าไม้ที่ราบลุ่มน้ำท่วมถึง (ป่าบุ่งป่าทาม) และการอนุรักษ์ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ และความเชื่อมต่อของระบบนิเวศลุ่มน้ำโขง
• หากมีประสบการณ์ในการทำงานในโครงการอนุรักษ์ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพในพื้นที่ป่าบุ่งป่าทาม ในแนวเชื่อมต่อระบบนิเวศแม่น้ำโขง ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียหลายฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้อง จะได้รับการพิจารณาเป็นพิเศษ
• มีความสามารถในการสื่อสารทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษ

Position title: Lower Songkhram River Basin Project Officer, Forest Forward Program

Major Functions:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager. The Project officer will support all aspects of a new forest and wildlife conservation program in the Lower Songkhram Floodplain River Basin. The project officer will be responsible for a range of activities, including flooded forest landscape restoration, support for the management of protected areas and RAMSAR sites, identifying  areas for potential designation as Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures (OECMs), and influencing effective community and public land forest management and policy.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct or manage aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity assessments or monitoring procedures;
• With support from the Project Manager, analyze data to identify ecosystem restoration opportunities that maintain or enhance riverine,  forest, and wetland connectivity and integrity;
• Liaise with local communities, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to secure their support in developing forest and wetlands biodiversity restoration plans;
• Work with local community leaders and government agencies (Royal Forest Department, Fishery Department, Water Resources Department) to develop or implement forest and wetlands restoration activities identified in Community Forest and Fish Conservation Zone management plans;.
• Provide ongoing support and resources to  communities for effective forest, aquatic, and wetlands monitoring and management;
• Support and implement community outreach and sustainable livelihood projects;
• Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and field visits to promote stakeholder collaboration and knowledge sharing;
• Support the Project Manager in the development of work plans;
• Monitor progress against work plan;
• Maintain and ensure security of all databases, technical reports, presentations, maps, photos, and videos produced by the project;
• Provide input to communications products/campaigns;
• Support other work as required.

 Required Qualifications:                                                                                                                                          

• Bachelor's degree in conservation biology, forest or wetland management or ecology, environmental science, or a related field;
• Understanding of flooded forest ecosystems, wetland characteristics, threats, socio-economic contexts, and conservation opportunities in Thailand;
• Experience working in forest and wetland conservation projects involving multi-stakeholders; connectivity conservation experience highly desirable;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team;
• Willingness to travel to remote locations and conduct fieldwork as required;
• Proficiency in MS Office;
• Proficiency in GIS is highly desirable;
• Fluency in Thai and competence in English.
