EDUCATION OFFICER (CHILD DEVELOPMENT)
COERR FOUNDATION is a Thai NGO established for the purpose of bringing aid to displaced persons in Thailand and those affected by natural disasters.
COERR is looking for experienced personnel to fill the post of Education Officer (Child Development) for Bangkok field office on Prahonyothin 30 Road between BTS Senanikhom and BTS Ratchayothin stations.
LEVEL: Junior level
SALARY RANGE: THB. 22,500 – 27,500 depending on educational background and years of work service with additional cost of living and other staff benefits
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Student Support:
- Provide counseling, observation, assessment, and intervention for students with behavioral challenges.
- Refer students to the Education Services Unit for specialized support when needed.
- Design and implement engaging learning activities tailored to the needs of urban refugee children.
- Identify and provide appropriate learning tools and resources for students and staff.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of learning activities to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Follow up on student progress after counseling and behavioral interventions.
- Develop and improve counseling procedures, behavioral intervention strategies, and learning activities.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Collaborate with the Senior Education Services Supervisor to identify topics and design learning activities in line with urban refugee education development policies.
- Analyze and contribute to the development of innovative learning approaches for refugee students.
- Assist in the design and delivery of staff development training programs.
Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Education Services Supervisor, teaching staff, and volunteer workers.
- Update and maintain student databases.
- Prepare monthly statistical reports on program activities.
- Act as a substitute teacher for the Intensive Thai Language Program when needed.
- Assist with the planning and execution of recreational and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Thai nationality
- Bachelor's degree in special education, Child Development, Education, Social work, psychology or a related field.
- Experience working with children, preferably in a refugee or multicultural setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
- Good counseling skills and has the ability to cope with stressful situations and clients
- Good command of English and Thai, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- High responsibility, proactive and initiative ideas, positive attitude and flexibility
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, MS office family and internet)
