Introduction
The Borderland Health Foundation (BHF) is a non-for-profit, non-confessional and non-political organization, registered in Thailand. The Foundation is linked to a field station of the Mahidol - Oxford University Research Unit (SMRU) which located in Tak province, Thailand. BHF is working with marginalized populations along the Thailand-Myanmar border to scale up and support the health projects, translating the results obtained by SMRU. The main areas of work are malaria, tuberculosis and maternal & child health.
Task and Responsibilities:
- Review donor and internal grant agreements to clarify terms, provide clear guidance, and ensure compliance for smooth grant implementation.
- Coordinate monthly grant monitoring efforts with the Operations, Administration, and Support teams to track grant expenditures and implementation meticulously, ensuring adherence to donor and organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate budget allocation and effective grant planning with the Operations, Administration, and Support teams. Regularly review budgets, address variances, optimize resource utilization, and maintain compliance with organizational and donor expectations.
- Assist the Head of the Grant Management Team with budget analysis as needed, providing insights and support for effective financial decision-making.
- Verify and enter data to support the Head of the Grant Management Team in preparing accurate and timely grants-related reports.
- Maintain and update both hard and soft copies of grant files, ensuring all documentation is organized, easily accessible, and compliant with relevant policies and regulations.
- Collect feedback from grantees and staff to identify areas for improvement in the grant allocation process, analyze responses, and implement changes to enhance efficiency, transparency, and overall effectiveness.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor and Senior Assistant Grant Officer.
Education
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related subjects.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant scope of work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software, with experience in Oracle software considered an advantage.
- Mature, polite and be a good team player
- Good troubleshooting skills with the proven ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Culturally sensitive with the ability to work with a multi or cross-cultural team.
Languages and other
- Good command of written and verbal English and Thai
- Burmese and Karen language skills would be an asset
- Understanding of the situation along the Thailand-Burma border and in- side Burma
