Job Description:
The Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) exists to protect the natural world and defend our basic human right to a secure environment.
EJF is working in Thailand to end illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and human rights abuses on fishing vessels and actively promote improvements to policy- making, corporate governance and management of fisheries.
EJF is seeking to employ a ‘Researcher’ to join its Thailand team. This position will include conducting both desk-based and field-based research and investigations work alongside EJF colleagues and local partners into a range of topics including sustainable fishing practices, the practice of bottom trawling, and human rights violation in the fishing industry and engagement with a range of stakeholders across the fishing industry aimed at progressing reforms.
Successful candidates should be comfortable working independently, be adept at conducting both desk-based and field-based research, confident in public speaking, and be prepared to travel within Thailand.
Post Title: Researcher
Type of appointment: 12 months (potentially renewable or convertible to a permanent position, subject to performance review)
Remuneration: 40,000 – 60,000 baht per month, depending on experience
Location: Bangkok based with need for domestic travel as required.
