Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 30 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary shelters in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang, is looking for efficient, motivated and experienced individuals for the position as Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Assistant

Duty Station:             Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations:         Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts within the field

Duration:                    31 July 2025 (with possibilities to extend)

Salary range:             20,000 THB (+benefits)

Main Responsibilities and Duties

1. Support MEAL Officer in close collaboration with responsible data-collecting staff to ensure quality and timely data collection for survey, research, and assessment.
2. Assist MEAL Officer to implement MI accountability mechanisms and information sharing in project target locations.
3. Carry out regular field visits to monitor data collection and ensure active implementation of accountability mechanisms.
4. Work closely with shelter-based MEAL Assistant to collect and check feedback in the temporary shelters to ensure feedback is collected on time and share to MEAL Officer.
5. Assist MEAL Officer in translating MEAL related document and interpretation from English to Karen and vice versa.
6. Assist MEAL Officer in reviewing and entry survey data into KOBO Toolbox.
7. Assist MEAL Officer to conduct training, campaign, and awareness raising to target population and staff related to MEAL
8. Coordinate with relevant project team to collect a human-interest story and other communication content to promote MI Thailand service for internal and external audiences.
9. Collect activities photos which include events, MI services, and staff capacity building and share them to MEAL Officer.
10. Submit monthly reports to the MEAL Officer.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1. Thai National [and non – Thai national with legal document to work in Thailand without applying for visa]
2. University degree in field like Social Science or equivalent discipline.
3. Previous experience of MEAL related work.
4. Experience working with (I)NGO, NGOs, or CBOs, and experience working in Shelters along the Thai – Myanmar border is considered advantage but not required.
5. Fluent in Sgaw Karen (writing, reading, and speaking)
6. Communication skills in English, both verbal and written
7. Effective communication skills.
8. Proficient in MS Office (Words, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet-based applications.
9. Basic knowledge and skills in data collection, analysis, and visualization software.
10. Basic knowledge of photography and videography is considered as advantage.
11. Flexible, able to set priorities, and willing to travel and stay overnight in remote villages.
