Programme Coordinator

Kindernothilfe e.V. Thailand Office

 

Kindernothilfe e.V. (KNH), founded in 1959, is a not-for-profit organization that works to support vulnerable and marginalized children to develop their full potentials. KNH collaborates with local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and their networks across 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe to protect and realize children’s rights. In Germany, KNH is actively involved in raising awareness, education, and advocacy efforts related to development policies, with a particular focus on the implementation of the Child Rights Convention.

In Thailand, our program partners with local NGOs and their networks to implement projects that are centered on child rights and the empowerment of women through Self-Help Groups (SHGs). These initiatives are carried out in Northern Thailand, Shan State in Myanmar, and Bokeo in Lao PDR. Our approach aims to promote long-term sustainable outcomes by empowering children, supporting communities to become self-reliant, and strengthening cooperation with various stakeholders to ensure the fulfillment of children rights.

Goal of this position: Ensure that Local Partners have the capacity to plan and implement projects in compliance with the Child Rights Approach and KNH quality standards

Roles and responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of Country Strategies across all dimensions, including identifying potential partners, analyzing project information, developing proposals, and managing administration and logistics.
  2. Partner Capacity Development – Support the Programme Manager in conducting and coordinating capacity building activities for local partners.
  3. Project Impact Planning and Monitoring – Support local partners in project analysis, provide feedback, recommendations, and regular follow-up on project implementation and progress.
  4. Project Budget Planning and Monitoring – Assist the Finance Manager and Programme Manager in Project budget planning and conducting financial monitoring of local partners.
  5. Prepare and submit reports and plans in accordance with KNH standards and formats to the Programme Manager.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Sociology, International Development, or a related field.
  • Understanding of the rights-based approach in women, children, and community development is an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of experiences in project design and management with local NGOs and CSO networks
  • Experience in the institutional grant management is preferred
  • Ability to deliver training is an asset

Required skills

  • Critical thinking and analytical skill
  • Problem solving skill
  • Interpersonal and communication skills especially in the diverse culture
  • Fluent in Thai and English languages (non-Thai nationals who are proficient in Thai are welcome to apply)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access.

Contract: One year contract (Possible to turn Permanent based on Performance)

Work station: Onsite - Chiang Mai
