CONTRACT LENGTH: 1 year (pending 3-month probation review)

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

DESCRIPTION

Based in Mae Sot, Thailand, the Finance Associate works across all project teams to ensure timely, transparent, and accurate financial monitoring and reporting. The Finance Associate is responsible for daily transactions and record keeping and works with fianance managers to ensure spending is documented and in line with procurement policies. The position also supports InEd's Finance Manager in monitoring Finance policies andguidelines.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Organization petty cash, including advances and reimbursements to staff
- Ensure compliance with formal cash disbursal requirements per financial policies
- Prepare and record tax and social security documents, including staff personal income tax and organization tax
- Perform monthly cash counts, payment requests and assist with bank transactions.
- Prepares complete set of documentation for check payments--e.g., purchase order, invoice/delivery order, payee name, and terms of payment, securing signature of the authorized signatories, verifying that the amounts on receipts expensed match the amounts in current account records and in current account statements received from banks
- Provides and clear staff cash advances for operation and activity costs as necessary
- Record expenses in the petty cash register and accounting software.
- Prepare complete documentation for check payments and verify transaction accuracy
- Maintain accounting records (hard and soft copies) and update financial filing and documentation
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliation
- Provide assistance on preparing financial documents for project activities e.g. Acknowledgment of Receipt, Per diem, Reimbursement
- Support Finance Manager for coordinate with the auditor and provide all documents and reports as required
- Support the Finance Manager to prepare financial budgets for proposals to donors
- To translate and interpret from and into Thai and English
- To ensure that all regular office expenses are paid in an appropriate and timely
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Finance manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- A graduate in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
- Experience in Finance, Accounting, or Project Finance Management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within national, international, multicultural, and multilingual organizations.
- Good in written and spoken English and Thai is required.
- Thai nationality
