PSS Consultant – Staff Wellbeing Workshop for Emergency Response Team (ERT)

 

Position Title              : PSS Consultant (Staff Wellbeing)

Location                      : Bangkok (Samala hotel)

Reports to                   : Emergency response Manager 

Starting Date               : September 25, 2025 (one-day session)

Duration                         : 1 day (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

 

1. Background

Following intensive emergency response operations, staff members are often exposed to secondary trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. To ensure the Emergency Response Team (ERT) can continue to serve communities effectively and sustainably, it is essential to provide structured psychosocial support. As part of the Emergency Earthquake AAR and EPP Workshop in Bangkok, PIN Myanmar is seeking a qualified Psychosocial Support (PSS) Consultant to design and facilitate a full-day wellbeing and recovery session for ERT staff.

 

2. Objective of the Assignment

The objective is to support ERT staff to regain energy, process stress, and strengthen resilience after working in crisis situations. The consultant will create a safe, interactive, and restorative learning space that balances individual reflection and group counselling approaches.

 

3. Key Responsibilities: 

The Consultant will:

  • Design and facilitate a one-day (9:00 AM – 15:00 PM) wellbeing workshop.
  • Incorporate methods such as group counselling, mindfulness, stress-management techniques, and reflective practice.
  • Provide coping strategies to manage post-crisis fatigue and maintain long-term resilience.
  • Align content with international MHPSS standards and PIN’s safeguarding and staff care policies.
  • Document key lessons and provide brief recommendations for follow-up wellbeing support.

 

4. Expected Deliverables

  • Workshop agenda and facilitation plan (submitted 2 days before workshop).
  • One-day facilitated wellbeing session (Bangkok, 25 September 2025).
  • Training report highlighting staff feedback, key insights, and suggested next steps for organizational staff care.

 

5. Duration and Logistics

  • Date & Time: September 25, 2025, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: Bangkok (venue arranged by PIN)
  • Logistics (materials needed during the session) will be supported by PIN’s operations team.

 

Payment Schedule: The payment will be made in one instalment after the delivery of the services and submission of the training report. The remuneration limit is set at 13 000 THB.

 

5. Skills and Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering staff-care, counselling, or PSS in humanitarian/emergency settings.
  • Proven ability to conduct group counselling and mindfulness sessions.
  • Strong facilitation skills in multicultural and high-stress environments.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Myanmar context is an asset.
