Early Career WPS Researchers, AMPLIFY, Home-based
The Asia Foundation's AMPLIFY: Amplifying Women's Peace Actions in ASEAN program, funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is seeking for early career women, peace and security (WPS) researchers. This is a short-term home-based consultancy for 20 days from October 2025 to February 2026. The researchers will conduct and analyze primary and secondary data, develop draft briefs, present the findings, and perform necessary tasks during the consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and finalize the methodology, incorporating feedback from TAF.
Collect and analyze data obtained from secondary sources, such as academic papers, reports, research articles, working papers, and statistical databases, and document promising practices.
Conduct a small number of Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) or other primary data collection. Consultants will be responsible for identifying and engaging research participants, with assistance from TAF where possible and in accordance with ‘do no harm’ and safeguarding policies and practices.
Develop a draft brief.
Revise and finalize the brief, incorporating inputs from TAF and partners.
Present the findings at one meeting/dialogue as identified by TAF.
Perform any other related tasks as requested by and agreed with TAF.
Qualifications
The consultant must be an early career WPS researcher. For the purposes of this TOR, early career is defined as having no more than 8 years post-PhD or Masters experience.
Proven strong record of research experience in the field of WPS. Samples of written work will be required as a basis for consideration.
Proven ability to develop comprehensive and evidence-based analysis to inform policy makers.
Knowledge of, and experience with Southeast Asia.
Ability to work cooperatively and respond constructively and adapt to the requests and inputs from different stakeholders.
Postgraduate degree or candidature in a field related to the topic.
Ability to deliver quality outputs within the timeframe stipulated.
Excellent English writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Compensation and Benefits
A competitive consultancy fee commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
