Regional Policy & Advocacy Adviser, Asia & Pacific
Contract type: Permanent
Salary & Benefits in Thailand: Circa THB 1,475,000 gross salary per annum (dependant medical allowance) plus pension allowance, medical cover for staff, 37 annual leave days including public holidays.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new global programme and policy development and Asia regional team to make transformational changes to the lives of poor people in Asia.
You will ensure that the learning from VSO programming is captured and used to promote pro poor policy and that the voices of impoverished and marginalized people are heard in national and international policy fora.
Championing effective people first advocacy, you will develop and coordinate global advocacy processes and raise VSOs profile as a distinct policy actor in the region. We will call on you to work across VSO to promote and support advocacy integration into programmes.
The applicant
Significant policy advocacy experience at national and international levels.
Experience in development programming at community level.
The ability to design, carry out, support, edit and write up research of publishable quality for policy advocacy purposes.
Experience in implementing global advocacy programmes, including supporting people throughout the system to participate in joined up North-South advocacy.
This role can be based in the regional office in Thailand or a country office in the Asia-Pacific region (Cambodia, Nepal, and Bangladesh). Candidates need the right to work in one of these locations. National terms and conditions of those countries will be offered.
