THB 25,000 – THB 35,000 per month

 

Length of Contract

One year, with possibility of extension depending on funding availability

Responsibilities

 

Summary

Suwannimit Foundation is a Thailand registered foundation working towards the operational capacity and programmatic impact of its civil service organization partners; and paving ways to increase access to and sustainability of social services for marginalized persons living along the Thailand-Myanmar border.

We are currently seeking for a person to fill-up our Grants Manager position.  This person is responsible for ensuring that Suwannimit has the financial resources to meet programmatic and operational needs through leading the designing and updating of the fundraising strategy and building a team to support its implementation.

This position is a personally and professionally rewarding experience with the right personality, perspective and values. Your first few months will be mostly spent with partner civil service organizations and our program team to understand the essential factors relevant to the role.  

 

Job Specific

 

Role 1: Conduct research and devise funding strategies to meet the foundation’s needs (30%)

Develop an organization-wide fundraising strategy and work plan including tactics for raising unrestricted income – consider all types including statutory, philanthropy, private sector, trusts, and mass audience fundraising

Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations) and work to establish contacts

Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization

Undertake independent research in finding alternative resources for long-term sustainability of the organization (e.g. income generation, social enterprises, ideas for effective resource mobilization) and regularly provide findings to the Executive Director and Subcommittee

Ensure the foundation’s development in capabilities needed to enter into framework agreements and underlying contracts, raise gaps with Executive Director and subcommittee

 

Role 2: Create proposals for new funding for the foundation and manage strong strategic relationships with donors (35%)

Lead writing of compelling proposals for grants, with support from Executive Director and Program Director, and ensure timely submissions and compliance to donor guidelines

Ensure that accurate and up-to-date information is maintained on all submissions, grant-funded projects, and donors

Develop and deepen existing donor relationships, ensuring that the organization maintains effective communications and good relations with our donor partners, ensuring they are updated on our work and achievements

Keep Executive Director, Board and Subcommittee up-to-date on changing donor priorities and ensure that new funding opportunities are identified and shared in a timely manner

 

Role 3: Manage organization’s media presence to increase the foundation’s profile and reputation within the donor community (35%)

Maintain the foundation’s website and spotlights in other websites, including regularly providing updates on the organization’s work and progress

With support from other staff, develop marketing/communications material for the organization (e.g. brochure, website, annual report, poster, etc.)

With support from Executive Director, coordinate forums as needed to improve exposure and connection (e.g. Donor Meetings)

Represent the organization at meetings with donors and external events

Be point of contact for donors to the organization, and effectively channel inquiries to other staff members as needed

Organize or provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, International Development or other related courses

 

Work Experience

At least 2 years fundraising or at least 2 years in marketing or communications in either profit or nonprofit sector with relevant experience in donor management  

Active role as a fundraiser

Experience with international donors and donors in Thailand

Skills/Knowledge/Aptitude

Proposal writing and reporting with logframes

Independent research

Computer skills: MS Office programs, electronic correspondence, basic digital media design and website management

Excellent presentation skills

Strong ability in marketing, communications, and public relations

Strong ability in relationship building and management

Resilience and flexibility

Experience in USAID, EU and other international aid agencies

Language(s)

English proficiency

Able to communicate in Thai

Motivation

Special interest in improving the works of grassroots organizations

Self-motivated, and a self –starter but able to work as part of a team

 

Other

Willing and able to work on occasional evenings and weekends to support fundraising activities
