Première Urgence-Aide Médicale Internationale (PU-AMI) is an international non-governmental organization whose mandate is to bring a comprehensive response to the essential needs of populations suffering from humanitarian crises in emergencies until autonomy and dignity can be obtained.
Operational in 22 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Caucasus and the Caribbean, PU-AMI works in the areas of food security, health, nutrition, rehabilitation of infrastructure, water and sanitation and economic recovery. PU-AMI is the result of the merger between two NGO’s: Première Urgence and Aide Médicale Internationale in 2011.
PU-AMI in Thailand is providing comprehensive health care services in 3 temporary shelters in Tak province. These camps represent 60 000 refugees from Karen and Shan State mainly and other ethnies who fled conflict and persecution.
PU-AMI is currently looking for Grant Writer - Consultant to bring excellent writing skills to create proposals and other written materials for donors. The Grant Writer must be able to write compelling, technical proposals to secure six figure awards from the US Government (BPRM) and the European Union (DEVCO) funding sources.
Reporting directly to the Program Coordinator, the Grant Writer will work closely with the co-applicants of the proposal to DEVCO and with the Asia Desk team in Paris.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare and write two grant proposals
· Work in partnership with program team members, including overseas staff, to leverage funding opportunities from European Union and US government sources and submit grants according to strict deadlines.
· Collaborate with the members of the consortium to integrate their contribution to the proposals
· Collaborate with the Finance team to prepare budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Higher level education qualification in a relevant field (social sciences, international development, public health);
· Experience working with US and EU donors, required;
· Minimum five (5) years of experience working for an international NGO or donor agency, preferably with overseas experience;
· A minimum of two to three (2-3) years of grant-writing experience in a non-profit setting and knowledge of the grant application process;
· Excellent writing, research, analytical, and project management skills. Proven ability to write detailed proposals, including financial elements;
· Ability to review and edit documents developed at field level is crucial;
· Strong computer knowledge with Microsoft Office and relational databases
PERSONNAL REQUIREMENTS
· Strong understanding of service provisions in camp settings
- Strong understanding of the context along the Thailand Myanmar border
· Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and across teams;
· Ability to successfully manage a large volume of work, meet multiple and often competing deadlines, and respond with flexibility to unanticipated requests;
· Demonstrated attention to detail; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
CONTRACT
The first call for proposal is to be published mid-March, the grant writer must be available to start the work two weeks after the call.
Duration: 25 days spread out in 2 months
Location: Anywhere. It is not compulsory to be in Thailand.
