Finance Officer
Asia Pacific Regional Programme
The International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) is a worldwide network of judges and lawyers united in affirming international law and rule of law principles that advance human rights.
We are seeking to recruit a Finance Officer to manage the ICJ’s Asia Regional Programme’s finances. The position is based in Bangkok, Thailand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Finance Officer has the following responsibilities:
Manage and monitor the financial and accounting system. Process all accounting entries and corrections relating to expenditure, income and money transfers. Establish and maintain cash controls, monitor the purchase order system, establish and maintain supplier accounts;
Carry out monthly reconciliation of various Payables & Bank statements with journal entries. Assist with monthly closings;
Draft monthly and quarterly financial statements and general ledger;
Assist with the preparation, implementation, monitoring and review of the Programme’s budgets;
Assist with financial audits;
Manage the Office petty cash;
Be responsible for all payments/bills of the office. Process Account Payable and prepare the different payment cycles;
Maintain relationships with the bank and service providers as well as important contacts of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have:
A degree or diploma in Accounting or Business Administration;
3-5 years of work experience in accounting or finance in an international context.
Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills, ability to take initiative and capacity to adapt to changing priorities and needs;
Attention to detail and accuracy;
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well as part of a team and thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment;
Excellent language skills in spoken and written English and Thai;
Advanced computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office. Ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word-processing programmes at a highly proficient level;
Commitment to human rights and the rule of law.
