BACKGROUND:
WWF has a long established presence in the Mekong region, starting in Vietnam in 1990. Since then, WWF operations have grown to four Country offices based in Cambodia (Phnom Penh), Laos (Vientiane), Thailand (Bangkok) & Vietnam (Hanoi), including a Regional team in the Hanoi, Vientiane and Bangkok offices. The ‘Greater Mekong Programme Office’ was officially formed in November 2005 merging WWF Indochina (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam) and WWF Thailand. In order to be relevant with partners at provincial levels and deliver conservation results in landscapes, GMPO has also developed 20 field offices across the 4 countries and 6 landscapes.
Following a strong track record of conservation delivery over the last 20 years, WWF has established both the credibility and presence to deliver conservation impact at all levels from provincial, to national to regional.
WWF Greater Mekong Programme Office has embarked on new strategic plan FY11-FY15. The new strategic plan outlines changes in the way WWF GMPO operates, both in conservation and operation aspects.
I MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
In the capacity as Project Sustainable Markets Project Assistant, responsible to maintain all administrative and financial documents and records for the Sustainable Markets team and responsible to provide information, receipts and routine reports to the finance section. Act as the key liaison point between the project and the Finance, Administration and HR sections. Support project activities and assist the project manager and project staff to represent the project to the target group and interested parties.
II MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the project manager and staff to arrange, support, undertake and facilitate field trips, meetings, workshops, special events. (30%)
Prepare and review financial and accounting transactions and responsible to maintain up to date records and receipts to monitor all financial transactions. (25%)
Responsible for making necessary arrangements, planning itineraries and making bookings as instructed by the project manager related to project field visits, site visits, travel and field trips for project staff in respect to project activities. (25%)
Work with project staff to facilitate and document meetings and workshops, and help to prepare reports (10%)
Work with the Project Manager and staff to provide administrative support where necessary (10%)
III WORKING RELATIONS:
Internal : Works closely with other staff members of WWF Thailand Programme
Reports to and works under the instruction of the Project Manager
Works with and supports the project team members on programme planning, development, capacity-building, and representation.
Regular contact with Programme Manager, Sustainable Market team, and Finance Manager
External: Interacts with government agencies and community organizations
Principle focal point for local partners and counterparts at the project site
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in business administration, social science, or related fields
At least 1 year work experience
Good financial management and administration skills
Ability to set clear goals and objectives
Fluency in written English and Thai
Ability to work with other people
Strong commitment to task, ability to cope with varied workload and flexible working hours, and to work independently.
Outgoing, friendly personality.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, Photoshop or Illustrator.
