The ICRC regional delegation in Bangkok provides assistance to victims of violence and works with authorities in order to improve the conditions in detention facilities. It also endeavours to promote and to strengthen humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

We are looking for a
Field (Liaison) Officer, based in Pattani

In this position, you will be expected to call upon your skills and your talent to foster and maintain relationships with a wide array of external contacts, local communities, and government organizations in view of strengthening the ICRC’s position in the southern border provinces and assist the organisation fulfil its mandate.

Your main responsibilities
• Promote the ICRC's activities in the southern most provinces of Thailand
• Maintain/initiate contacts with state interlocutors/agencies and the Thai Red Cross.
• Carry out Thai/English verbal and written translations (letters, reports)
• May be asked to carry out administrative and logistics tasks (maximum 20%)

Your education and experience
• University degree or equivalent, preferably in the domain of law, political science, sociology, international relations or communication
• Minimum 4 years work experience in a similar field
• Good computer skills in both Word and Excel and internet research tools and sites
• Holds a valid driver license

Your profile
• Good understanding of the political, geographical, social and cultural environment of the most southern border provinces
• Good knowledge and/or interest of state actors in the South
• Very good command of written and spoken English
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Able to work independently and travel extensively within the area covered 
• Able to work in a multi-cultural team and willing to contribute to a good team spirit
