Save the Children International is looking for Fundraising Consultant
1.Background
Save the Children Thailand is seeking support to maintain and expand our education programming in 2017. Building on a successful foundation of programming for children on the move and ethnic minorities, we are urgently looking for opportunities to be able to continue to promote access to quality education for these marginalized groups in Thailand. By continuing this work, we can make real progress to our global learning breakthrough.
The fundraising consultant would support the Senior Education Specialist, Director for Program Development and Quality (PDQ), and the Country Director to develop concept notes and proposals for education funding opportunities as well as to position Save the Children to leverage donor support. The consultant will lead on facilitation and writing for all proposals during the four-month period- mainly expected to be focused on education but may also include other thematic sectors. The thematic specialists, MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning) Coordinator, Awards Coordinator, and PDQ interns will be available to support the development of all proposals.

- As funding calls are released or opportunities arise, lead in the facilitation (work plan and flow) of the proposal
- Lead in design of the results framework (if different from original concept already drafted)
- Draft the key sections of the narrative, with other PDQ team members’ input
- Ensure alignment of narrative, log frame, and budget
- As needed, support on revisions to proposals based on donor feedback

- Reviewed and approved proposals as needed (note that the assignment of proposals to the consultant will not exceed the maximum 75% time allocation)

If time allows after the above objectives are prioritized… draft concepts for DRR, child safety, child protection, or health

- Refresh existing concepts and draft new concepts as needed
- Develop a catalogue of concepts in various forms to share with Save the Children member offices and donors

Management
The consultant will report to Kim Koch, PDQ Director.
Time frame
Expected to spend approximately 50-75% full-time equivalent over 17 weeks (5 July to 28 October) or about 42-64 days. The majority of the work can be done remotely but the expectation is that the consultant is available as needed to join meetings at the Save the Children office- at minimum one day per week.
