HR Learning & Training Specialist (Based in Bangkok)
Roles: Working in more than 50 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas, Plan aims to reach as many children as possible, particularly those who are excluded or marginalized with high quality programs that deliver long lasting benefits by increasing its income, working in partnership with others and operating effectively The HR&OD Department provides a comprehensive HR service to the work of the whole organization with the aim of enabling the people in Plan to work strategically and consistently, linked by Plan’s values and the common purpose of advancing children’s rights. The purpose of this job is to contribute to the development, implementation and management of Plan Thailand’s development strategy to fulfil the short and long-term goals of the organization and to ensure that Plan’s employees as well as its Partners, have the capability to enable children to realize their full potential and to improve organizational, team, and individual performance.
Responsibilities : Staff joining Plan THA are effectively informed about the organization, its strategies and the purpose of their role Working with management on the preparation of materials and events to ensure new staff know about Plan and are able to reach full functionality in minimum time
Supporting management to identify and commission effective learning and training for staff and Partners Induction/orientation programs deliver the essential competencies needed for staff and line managers to work efficiently and effectively to deliver Plan’s strategic priorities Work in partnership with CMT to ensure that new managers and those transitioning to new positions in the organization are supported in the first 30–90 days and undergo an appropriate induction Deliver and facilitate elements of the induction directly, e.g. Corporate and management induction programs Designing and delivering fit for purpose learning and training programs in support of the business & HR strategies which leads to improved organizational, team, and individual performance.
Work with CMT as required to conduct a detailed training and learning needs analysis within their area to support training initiatives in the short, medium and long term. Work with subject matter experts (both in-house and with expert parties) and take the instructional design lead in the development of major training programs across the organization. Recommend the most appropriate delivery channel. Look for ways to continually improve organization’s training programs for staff and partners Deliver an appropriate blend of face-to-face training, experiential learning, e-learning, coaching and mentoring that are relevant to the learning styles of diverse groups. Facilitate internal learning/training events and workshops, delivering content as appropriate. Facilitate partners learning/training events and workshops, delivering content as appropriate. Help drive a performance management culture through workshop learning, coaching management behaviors, championing a coaching culture and addressing identified performance shortfalls of groups and individuals and partners in coordination with line managers Lead the monitoring and evaluation of application of knowledge and skills and analysis of gaps vs roles and responsibilities for Plan and staff and its partners .
3. Plan THA is compliant with the global Child Protection Policy Implementation standards To deliver CP training / training activities at country level to all staff and Partners and associates to build commitment to child protection in the office and minimize the risk of abuse to children To ensure that adequate CP measures are integrated into office processes and procedures. To ensure that the Plan CP Implementation standards (as it applies to the office) are implemented and CP measures integrated into activities across all departments and support the development of country level action plans that clearly outline gaps in implementation and how these can be addressed. To support policy and good practice development related to CP across all departments. To provide a central point for the recording of collated information on child protection implementation activity taking place across the office and sharing information and good practice to global CP counterparts To receive reports on child protection allegations To provide support and advice in dealing with alleged cases of child abuse and child protection concerns by Plan employees and associates including undertaking any necessary investigations.
4.Compliance to Corporate Mandates Complies corporate policies and standards- Child Protection Policy, IT Policy, Anti-Fraud and Corruption Policy, Confidentiality Policy, Code of Conduct, whistle Blowing, HR Policies and Procedures
5. Personal Development • Attends internally and externally facilitated training events, workshops, symposiums, studies, conferences to enhance level of performance. Maximize the use of ICT for greater awareness of local and global trends affecting development work. Accepts special objective assignments for skills enhancement and expansion. Shares learning to benefit others.
Qualifications: Knowledge • Excellent technical knowledge on general HR areas as indicated by the duties above • Knowledge of organizational development to support a changing program an advantage • How to build and use a process for induction and transitioning and the value they offer. • How to work with managers and partners to analyze learning and training needs for the team. • How to apply knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies such as pedagogic strategies, technologies that support the development of learning in the creation of learning interventions. • How to select the most appropriate delivery channel for particular learning training requirement • How to apply a number of facilitation models and styles to manage and optimize a learning event • How to design learning and training programs and processes that provide equality of opportunity and avoid unintended bias • Knowledge of SAP, or HR systems would be desirable.
Skills • Excellent written and spoken Thai and English skills • Proven skills in the full range of general HR needs including data management, learning and development, child protection, HR in emergencies and employee relations is essential • Skills in supporting strategic planning • Communication – excellent negotiation and influencing skills • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively • Highly developed relationship management skills, including ability to manage and influence diverse stakeholder group • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels • Articulate and confident standing up and delivering to large audiences
