Position title: Corporate Engagement Executive
Directly reports to: Marketing Manager, WWF Thailand
Technically reports to: Regional Marketing Director, WWF GMPO
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
Major Responsibilities:
Engaging Corporations and Networking
- Work with corporations to cultivate long-term partnership by helping corporations understand and incorporate environmental sustainability in their entire business approach: strategic, operational, marketing. Partnerships include raising funds to cover costs of partnership and management fees.
- Understand the areas WWF and corporations can form strategic and/or project-based partnerships using drivers of corporate performance and creating synergies for the mutual benefit of both organizations.
- Understand environmental / triple bottom line sustainability issues that prevail globally and locally and business’ role in the development process.
- Conduct necessary due diligence and research or coordinate out-sourced researchers on target corporations.
- Keep abreast of developments in strategic sectors and identify risks and opportunities for WWF partnership objectives.
- Be familiar with all international sustainability standards across strategic sectors, including WWF-supported certification schemes – MSC, ASC, Bon Sucro, FSC, etc. and other sustainability performance measures to initiate productive synergies with corporate targets.
- Develop and implement corporate marketing strategies to build up new donor funds and maintain existing donor funds.
- Align with WWF International’s Business and Industry engagement guidelines, including specific guidelines for engaging strategic sectors.
Fundraising and Product Development
- Deliver income objectives forecasted, report regularly to WWF Management on risks to meeting income objectives coordinating closely with Finance. Participate actively in corporate and marketing strategic planning.
- Develop appropriate products to deepen corporate engagement and contribute to meeting restricted and unrestricted income objectives.
- Ensure efficient and seamless account management processes are in place to support corporate partnerships and mitigate risks to partnership attrition.
- Coordinate with Market transformation and Conservation teams on product development for technical input, content and expertise for transformational engagement.
- To participate in major fundraising event/campaign and at times is required to lead and coordinate those activities.
Relationship Management and Communications
- Implement matrix coordination across all functions and units in WWF Thailand – finance, HR, Conservation, Administration, Marketing, Communications to prepare partnership proposals, manage relationships, track and report performance to ensure best-in-class relationship management, ensuring long term partnerships.
- Liaise with Marketing Communication officer through exchange of information that will serve as appropriate content for media channels to build the WWF brand in the corporate sector, provide content to share knowledge and best practice in triple bottom line activities and developments in green economy tools and methods.
- Work with Communications to manage and adhere to WWF brand position, mission and standards at all contact points with corporate and membership, where applicable.
- Work with Corporate Engagement team to maintain and regularly update a corporate database for targeted, existing and potential partners, uploading to WWF International database to prepare for publication of WWF Network’s corporate partnerships.
- Work closely with Marketing Communication officer on joint communications plans with corporate partners and implementing co-branding communications.
- Work with Corporate Engagement team to plan and strategize on all aspects of corporate Engagement and cross-functional synergies.
People Management
- Assist the Marketing Manager for succession management planning for key functional staff at country programme
- Assist the Marketing Manager to provides orientation and reorientation to staff at country office to help them understand the marketing guidelines of the organisation
- Assist the Marketing Manager to provides training to all staff on marketing when required
- Work with a high-performance team to deliver objectives, with the necessary rigor and standards
- In collaboration with other units, establish performance tracking processes and delivery mechanisms
- Perform regular evaluation of team performance, capacity building and career paths, in collaboration with the HR unit
- Establish and implement transition plans in the event of turn-over.
Issue Resolutions, Crisis/Risk Management
- Assist the Marketing manager in comprehensive advisory and technical guidance to managers and staff on all aspects of corporate engagement to ensure that the organisation follows action plan aligned with the GMPO Strategic Plan
- Provides marketing and presentation support for interactions with government assistance agencies, foundation sponsors and individual donors to WWF Thailand conservation activities when relevant.
- Maintain an awareness of any possible crisis or risk to the organisation and develop plans that will provide for such contingencies.
- Maintains an awareness of staff comments and any complaints to identify any areas that may need development of improvement
Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting
- Ensure the monitoring and evaluation of WWF Thailand M& F Action Plan.
- Ensure that the analysis of results for the WWF Thailand M & F Plan are consolidated as part of the overall WWF GMP monitoring and evaluation system.
- Assist the Corporate Engagement Manager on regularly tracks fundraising performance against plan objectives, identifies risks to deliver and mitigate measures.
- Coordinate the timely writing, approval and submission of reports to Donors.
Key Outputs/Deliverables
- Forge partnerships with strategic companies in Thailand to deliver WWF’s critical contributions to conservation.
- Establish prospects list and strategies for approach that address core business impact on conservation, footprint and natural capital management.
- Identify and deliver targeted restricted and unrestricted funds for the corporate marketing unit, following strategic partnership plans agreed upon with the corporation.
- Identify potential (and compatible) corporate and foundation sponsors for cash and in kind support for the organisation as a whole when required.
- Track performance and report regularly to internal and external partnership stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of local, regional and global developments and trends that will impact work with the corporate sector.
This TOR covers the main tasks and conveys the spirit of the sort of tasks that are anticipated proactively from staff. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary according to organizational needs.
Requirements:
- Education and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, accounts management, financial services, sales or in relevant fields or at least 5 years experiences in corporate position in a relevant sector
- Knowledge
- Familiar with environmental and conservation issues in Thailand
- Knowledge of the business sector and specific companies (market intelligence) in Thailand, and in the GMR is an advantage
- Extensive working knowledge of the local surroundings and has previously maintained networks professional contacts
- Knowledge of WWF’s corporate fund-raising process is an advantage
- Thorough understanding of socio-economic, conservation and development issues in Thailand
- Knowledge of the policy/institutional context related to conservation in Thailand
- Understanding of development partnerships, fund-raising, donor strategies, functions, governmental and international relations
- Experience & Skill
- 3-5 years practical experience in fundraising or corporate engagement management with major corporate customers, 2 years of which should be in Thailand
- Successful fundraising experience
- Experience of working and negotiating with Government officials and donors at all level
