PROGRAMME SOCIAL WORKER

Catholic Office for Emergency Relief and Refugees (COERR), a Thai NGO under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand (CBCT) was established in 1978 for the purpose of bringing aid to displaced persons in Thailand and those affected by natural disasters.

COERR is urgently looking for an experienced personnel to fill the post of Programme Social Worker, based in Bangkok.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. Assist the Senior Social Services Supervisor in the implementation of the multi-purpose cash assistance to vulnerable urban refugees and asylum seekers in Thailand.
2. 2. Identify vulnerable cases through conducting interviews/, home visits/assessments and information gathering.
3. Prepare the Case Vulnerability Assessment Forms and submit to the Senior Social Services Supervisor for review and comments.
4. Present cases to the Panel as required and keep and maintain case records and files with confidentiality at all times.
5. Conduct social counseling and social support to emergency and/or challenging cases.
6. Collaborate and coordinate with other units in understanding the dynamics of cases handled, their needs and problems, and implementing interventions or making referrals to the units concerned and to external agencies as required.
7. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Thai nationality
2. Bachelor degree of social worker, arts or other related fields. Good English language skill is a must
3. At least 1 year work experience. Good networking skill is preferred
4. Open-mindedness, flexible and has the ability to cope with stressful situations and clients
5. Ability to work under pressure and strong teamwork
6. Good writing skill with experience in a multi-cultural environment is preferred
7. Good computer skills (Word, Excel, MS office family and internet)

PSYCHOSOCIAL OFFICER

Catholic Office for Emergency Relief and Refugees (COERR), a Thai NGO under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand (CBCT) was established in 1978 for the purpose of bringing aid to displaced persons in Thailand and those affected by natural disasters.

COERR is urgently looking for an experienced personnel to fill the post of Psychosocial Officer, based in Bangkok

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. Responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of psychosocial programs, activities and mental health needs of urban refugees and asylum seekers.

2. Develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate psychosocial activities/programs for the clients

3. Manage and supervise clients with mental, psychological and anxiety problems. Conduct and/or refer cases for MSE, psychological testing, evaluation, assessment, and follow up recommendations and formulate treatment plans/options

4. Make referrals of special and difficult cases which require specialized care and treatment to other institutes or mental health care facilities or specialist.

5. Build and strengthen the capacity of the staff to integrate mental health activities in their respective works and in managing cases and lead in conducting case conference. Develop, implement and facilitate in-services training on mental health awareness and understanding psychosocial activities, case management (casework), counseling, etc,

6. Acts as a resources person, and maintain and update records of patients care, activities or progress of the case handled, as required.

7. Prepare and submit monthly situation (narrative and statistics) report of activities and cases managed.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Thai Nationality
2. Bachelor or master degree in counseling psychology
3. Two to three years work experience in the field of psychology
4. Open-mindedness, flexible, has the ability to cope with stressful situations and clients
5. Ability to work under pressure and strong teamwork
6. Good spoken, written and comprehension of English language with experience in a multi-cultural environment. Good command of writing English psychological report
7. Good computer skills (Word, Excel and MS office family)
