Location

Mae Sot, Tak Province, Thailand

Travel Requirements

Domestic

Compensation

 

Salary range THB 20,000 – THB 30,000 per month,

 

Government social security with additional private health insurance, 30 days sick leave, 3 months maternal leave (if applicable), 12 days a year vacation leave

 

Length of Contract

April 1, 2018-March 31, 2019, with possibility to continue (This position is dependent on successful funding.)

Responsibilities

Summary

Suwannimit Foundation is a Thailand registered foundation working towards the operational capacity and programmatic impact of its civil service organization partners; and paving ways to increase access to and sustainability of social services for marginalized persons living along the Thailand-Myanmar border.

We are currently looking for a person to fill in the position of a Women Protection and Empowerment (WPE) Manager with key role in strengthening the GBV support services in Mae Sot and influencing relevant Thai government bodies involved in GBV.

This position is a personally and professionally rewarding experience with the right personality, perspective and values. We encourage persons who have both the technical expertise and the attitude of optimism to apply. 

Job Specific

 

Role 1: Provide technical support to partners in strengthening their GBV services (25%)

·     Guide and mobilize local partner in strengthening its case management systems. Activities includes:

o   Joint review on their case management procedures and protocol

o   Agree on work plans to monitor progress of technical support

o   Assist partners in their GBV long term plans

 

Role 2:  Facilitate increased coordination among GBV network into a meaningful and sustainable partnership (25%)

·       Facilitate strategic planning with networks to identify both short and long term goals

·       Assist in the creation of tasks groups within the network

·       Initiate continuing lessons learned workshops within the network

 

Role 3:  Lead  WPE direct projects (20%)

·       Building relationships in target communities and their community leaders

·       Joint  work planning based on their identified needs

·       Oversee/facilitate GBV workshops in the community

·       Identifying community leaders and provide capacity building

 

Role 4:  Facilitate active participation from relevant Thai authorities (15%)

·       Coordinate with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security  and the local police

 

Role 5: Program planning and monitoring (10%)

·     Provide inputs during project design and planning to support WPE strategies.

·     Take lead in monitoring the indicators under this role.

·     Coordinate program with other sectors

 

Role 6: Administrative and Reporting (5%)

·     Monthly progress report and updating to supervisor

·     Provide inputs for proposal writing and donor queries

·     Monitoring of budget against work plan

 

 

Position Requirements

Area

Essentials

Education

·     Bachelor's Degree in Social Worker or other related professions

Work Experience

·      At least 3 years experience working in nonprofit sector

Skills/Knowledge/Aptitude

·     GBV protocol in Thailand

·     Case management procedures

·     Basic knowledge of Thailand's gender-based violence law

Language(s)

·      Thai language proficiency with conversational  English

·      Burmese or Karen language is desirable but not required

Motivation

·      Special interest in improving the works of grassroots organizations

·      Self-motivated, and a self –starter but able to work as part of a team

·      Effective time management;

·      Demonstrated resourcefulness;

·     Knows when to take action and when to refer.
