The Opportunity:
As the Gender Advisor – Mekong, you will lead the realization of Plan’s Gender Equality and Inclusion Policy in the Mekong Country Offices, including programming, advocacy and operations. Plan International’s ambition is that all of our work will be gender transformative, and this position is a key enabler of this. As such, you will ensure that programme development in all Mekong countries aligns with the new global strategy of Plan International, with a focus on girls’, and in particular adolescent girls.
This exciting opportunity will also support programme staff to mainstream gender into their programs, and provide specific leadership on advocacy initiatives for all countries involved. As part of this, you will get to provide mentoring, support and training to enable gender transformative project and activity design, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and to ensure assessment, consultation and communication processes that address the rights of girls and boys, women and men.
By engaging in this role, you will get to provide hands on support to the country offices in the Mekong, which will give you the chance to travel significantly.
