Job Title:                     Finance Officer

Supervisor:                  Regional Director, Asia

Reports to:                   Finance Manager, Asia

Works closely with:     All Thailand staff, regional project teams, and Asia country offices

SUMMARY

Internews maintains a regional office in Bangkok, which provides programmatic, administrative, human resources, and financial support to Thailand and regional projects, as well as country programs in the region.

The Finance Program Officer provides financial management support to Finance Manager and Asia Business Manager as well as regional programs in Asia managed from Thailand.

This position is open to local nationals only.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following;

• Maintain complete accounting records of all expenses for Internews projects in compliance with funder requirements and Internews policy.
• Reconcile daily, monthly and yearly transactions.
• Assist the Asia Business Manager with the development of budgets for new funding opportunities.
• Assist with budget management and finance support for regional projects managed from the regional office.
• Process accounting requests from project management teams; expense reports, check request, wire transfer requests, etc.
• Identify all expenses, enter data into the Agresso accounting system, and reconcile month end report.
• Work closely with counterpart in head offices, both in London, Europe and Arcata, USA
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluent written and spoken English and Thai
• Computer literacy in both English and Thai
• Experience in finance and accounting
• Knowledge of accounting software
• Relevant university degree
