EMPLOYMENT OFFER – Social Business Officer – Chiang Mai
Baan Dek Foundation is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious, organization based in Chiang Mai that supports over 1000 children in need and their families living in construction sites and slums. Through specifically tailored educational programs and flexible individual support, Baan Dek protects endangered children, allows families to becoming self-sustainable and gives opportunities for a better future.
Responsibilities of the advertised positions:
Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for a professional and dedicated local Social Business Officer committed to helping vulnerable women living in and around Chiang Mai. The Social Business Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Social Business Coordinator on Baan Dek Foundation's side-project called Dao Social Enterprise.
The main objective of Dao is to empower women who are exposed to domestic violence and various forms of abuse by providing them with training in home-based skills, emotional support and access to extra income. Through DAO, these women will produce easy-to-make products to be sold as corporate gifts.
Role and responsibilities include:
Required skills:
Nationality: Thai
Training: Degree or experience in relevant field (tailoring, art, social work is considered an important asset)
Language skills: Fluent Thai (spoken and written) and English proficient speaking and writing skills. Burmese and / or Tha-Yai (spoken and written) also considered an asset.
Other skills/interests: dedication to non-profit work, communication and relationship-building skills, ability to work under supervision and in a team, flexible, ability to multitask, highly motivated, positive energy & spirit, ability to work autonomously and under pressure, training skills, precision, interest in sewing & handicraft techniques.
Experience working as a / Tailor / Social Worker with tailoring skills is considered an asset
Working hours: Part time - Wednesday to Friday (part-time position, flexible schedule) + occasionally on weekend + availability in the afternoons
Salary: To be defined based on working hours, experience and qualifications. Complementary advantages provided (food, transportation & phone allowance, etc.)
Starting date: One year contract starting asap
