Background of the project:
Doctors without Borders Thailand (DWBT) has been active in the Deep South of Thailand over the last 12 months, conducting a series of Psychological First Aid trainings in all the 4 provinces with an aim to better our understanding of the situation in the area, raise awareness about DWBT & our neutrality, and to develop links with existing stakeholders including local NGOs and the Thai Department of Mental Health. DWBT is registered in Thailand as a PLC since January 2017.
DWBT is starting a project to primarily provide mental health services to people affected by the unrest. The project is expected to be based in Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat. DWBT will work to strengthen existing mental health system and to build local capacity through trainings and the provision of mental health services primarily focusing on women and children affected by unrest. DWBT is a non political, non religious medical organisation and does not discriminate based on religion, race, political affiliation or sex.

Main Purpose |
|
|
|
Performing the tasks of transporting authorized goods and passengers in a DWBT vehicle, ensuring its technical and safety conditions and respecting the country's traffic rules and DWBT security rules, in order to provide a safe, smooth and efficient service |
|
Accountabilities |
|
|
|
• Checking daily, the technical conditions of the assigned vehicle (state of the tires, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.), performing weekly check according to the DWBT Logbook, refilling fuel of the vehicle when necessary, and keeping it clean to ensure it can be driven in perfect conditions. Carrying out a hand over if another uses the vehicle • Ensuring the security of passengers in the vehicle, driving carefully, observing DWBT driving protocol including speed limits and traffic rules in the country as well as DWBT security rules, in order to avoid car accidents. • Ensuring all passengers have all necessary papers in order before travelling, and ensuring non DWBT staff sign disclaimers of responsibility before using the vehicle • Ensuring correct loading and unloading of the vehicle, submitting the documents to the receiver of the goods, checking the status of delivered goods, returning the duly completed documents to Logistics and ensuring that the goods have the necessary documents • Ensuring that all vehicle documents and the driver's driving license are valid and in the vehicle. • Informing the line manager of any incident involving the transportation of passengers and/or goods. • Knowing how to use basic communication equipment including smart phone and basic communication application as LINE Whatapp, according to DWBT communications policy to inform the driver's position and any potential implications. • Knowing and respecting the security rules related to vehicle movements, specifically those related to checkpoints and roadblocks. Ensuring all passengers know and respect the security rules • Responsible for ensuring that all equipment and tools entered in the vehicle’s inventory are carried and kept in good order • To perform the prescribed daily/weekly checks on the vehicle • To keep the vehicle clean inside and out • To solve basic mechanical problems immediately • To troubleshoot basic IT problem such as install program and IT devices • To do basic premise maintenance • To ensure that security appliances are regularly checked • To contact post office for mailing service • Able to stay overnight out off the Deep South such as Hadyai and Songkhla • Always take a positive role in team life and contribute to a healthy and energetic team spirit. • Always assist to the meetings/trainings provided by DWBT even after/before working hours. • To perform any other tasks as required by your Supervisor |

Requirements |

Education |
Essential literacy and driving license. Good knowledge of country roads |

Experience |
• Desirable experience with specific vehicles to use (4x4) • Desirable experience in DWB or other NGOs |

Languages |
· Able to speak Thai and English as working languages. |

Knowledge |
• Desirable knowledge of basic mechanics • Good knowledge of mission area roads |
