Program Development Officer (PDO)
DAI (Thailand) Limited, an international consulting firm, is recruiting highly qualified and motivated persons to work as a Program Development Officer (PDO) on the anticipated 4-year USAID-funded “Together” program in Thailand with objectives to improve engagement among citizens and government, strengthen civil society capacity to advocate for the public interest, improve relations among citizens of different backgrounds. The program will build upon the successes of previous and existing USAID programming and complement ongoing bilateral engagements between the U.S. Government and the Royal Thai Government.
The Program Development Officer will be a member of DAI’s project team and work closely with USAID and local partners to identify opportunities and design technical activities that support project objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain working relationships with government representatives, civil society organizations, donors, media and academic institutions;
- Identify opportunities and design technical assistance packages and activities, including grant awards to local organizations, related to governance, civic-government engagement and dialogue, media and advocacy;
- Conduct detailed assessments and analysis in support of programming;
- Monitor and assess the impact of project activities, with a focus on how technical assistance, grant and sub-contract portfolios contribute to broader project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Academic degree in Political Science, Sociology, Journalism, Communications or related field;
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in technical positions in programs addressing public policy and government systems, governance, media, social inclusion and gender issues;
- Strong ability to design and manage a portfolio of activities, including grant awards;
- Specialist knowledge and understanding of issues related to governance in Thailand;
- Strong existing relationships with civil society organizations, media, and academic institutions;
- Excellent public speaking and facilitation skills. Strong English and Thai reading, writing and speaking skills;
- Willingness to be located outside of Bangkok.
