The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), established in 1986, is an inter-governmental organization with headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand supporting the advancement of safer communities and sustainable development, through implementing programs that reduce the impact of disasters upon countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific. The primary geographical focus of ADPC’s activities is Asia with the South, South East and East Asia being the primary sub-regions.
ADPC has more than 31 years of working experience in Asia along with the national and local Government of its charter member countries as well as countries of the Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) on Disaster Management. Statement of Intent:
The Administrative Assistant (China Program) will be responsible for coordinating and assisting the activities under the China Program Director, OED. In addition to that, the Administrative Assistant is requested to assist the Director of Strategic Planning Department in administrative support.

Required Qualifications / Selection Criteria:
- University degree in relate field.
- At least two years of relevant work experience in the area of secretarial or service related support.
- Basic knowledge or experience in scheduling, accounting, budget and financial management preferred.
- Good interpersonal skills, team-oriented work style and interest and experience in working in a multi-cultural, international development; a sound skill on problem solving is a must.
- Good computer skills especially in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Simple graphic designing for book, cover and book layout (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) is a plus.
- Good command of English particularly for writing. Understanding Chinese language is an asset.
- Good translation skill between English and Thai languages.
- A Thai national is preferred.

- Demonstrated ability on plan and organize work and time independently.
- Strong desire to learn, undertake new challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistant (China Program) will work under the overall guidance of the China Program Director:
- Provide general administrative support to China Program.
- Provide administrative support to projects under the China Program.
- Additional tasks as assigned by the China Program Director.
In addition to that, the Administrative Assistant will:
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Strategic Planning Department.
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Strategic Planning Department.
Reporting Relationship:
- Reports directly to the China Program Director.
- Works closely with other staff of ADPC as requested.
