Position title: ESG Specialist
Department: Sustainable Market Department
Reporting to: Sustainable Finance Manager
Technical Supervisor: Sustainable Finance Engagement Manager, WWF Singapore
Background
As the world's growing population reaches the shortage and unsustainability on food and natural resources, WWF Thailand now launch its Sustainable Market in fisheries, forestry, agriculture and finance to assist and guide businesses towards a more environmentally sustainable practice. WWF plans to achieve this by engaging with various stakeholders including government agencies, private sectors, standard owners and consumers to influence this change. This position will work on engaging with various financial institutions and regulators to help influence funding and investment towards environmentally sustainable projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with targeted financial institutions to conduct capacity building workshops targeted at financial institutions according to the strategic plan designed by Sustainable Finance Manager. Support SFM in developing workshop materials and delivering presentations.
- Assess and benchmark local financial institutions’ extent of ESG integration and regulatory standards
- Work with targeted banks to develop responsible lending policies, ESG risk appraisal tools and appropriate monitoring and reporting frameworks
- Manage research on commodities supply chains, ESG issues and sustainability disclosure and performance by companies; write reports and develop tools
- Support Sustainable Finance Manager to implement advocacy and developing partnerships with the finance sector and other stakeholders in the region in relation to sustainable finance
- Work with WWF conservation experts to distill insights and knowledge into guidance tools for the finance sector
- Monitoring, evaluating, budgeting and reporting of project performance against planned objectives and deliverables and milestones
Qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in private sector as CER professional in an environment or natural resource promotion OR Minimum 5 years’ Experience in sustainability Market.
- Expatriate need to have the work permit to work in Thailand
- Knowledge of credit and risk management is preferable
- Experience in proposal development
- Understanding of environmental sustainability relate to business risks and opportunities
- Environment, Social, Governance Implementation or ESG knowledge is preferable
- Preferred Master's degree in finance, economics, environmental management, or Bachelor degree also welcome to apply
- Good Presentation skill
- Good in Relationship management
- Fluent in English both writing and Speaking
