Position:      Regional Grant and Compliance Specialist

The Grants and Compliance Specialist leads on grant management and administrations for ARO grant projects and provides ARO management with technical and administrative support for oversight of grants management in Asia region. He/She works closely with regional management, the regional programme team and IH and CO grants functions to ensure Plan’s policies and procedures are followed and meets donor compliance for effective grants management. He/She also serve as the focal point with Plan Thailand support team on matters related to ARO grant projects.

 

Position:                  Regional Grant and Compliance Specialist

Location:                 Based in Bangkok

Dimensions of Role

 

  • Provides specialist technical advise independently
  • Coordinates a grant portfolio of up to $4m annual budget with diverse back donors including USAID, EC, NORAD, SIDA and similar donors
  • Coordinate and engages across the global organization with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Extensive communication in writing and remote collaboration
  • Does not manage own budget
  • No direct reports

 

Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position

 

  1. ARO managed grant funded projects are effectively managed and comply with Plan’s grants management processes and procedures

 

  1. ARO management are provided with technical and administrative support to ensure standards and processes are met relating to grant approvals, pipeline management and grant management

 

  1. ARO sub-grant/partnership agreements/contracts are effectively managed and comply with Plan’s policies and procedures

 

  1. ARO managed grant funded projects are in compliance with terms and conditions of donor agreements and Plan’s policies during project implementation

 

Dealing with Problems

 

  • Capable of building constructive working relationships across the whole organisation
  • Understanding of programmatic and compliance requirements from a variety of donors.

 

Essential skills:

 

  • Professional preferably with a degree in a relevant area and experience in grants management, finance, accounting, business administration, audit or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance, accounting, grants analysis
  • Familiarity with financial and administrative requirements of a variety of large grant donors
  • Capacity to plan, prioritize and execute autonomously with a strategic approach
  • Capacity to work under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral English communication

 

Desirable skills and competencies:

 

  • Good training and coaching abilities
  • Project management qualifications
  • Experience in management of grant audit processes

 

Level of Contact with Children:

Low to no contact
