Humanity and Inclusion Humanity and Inclusion (HI) has been active in Lao P.D.R. since 1996. The organization’s vision is of a Lao society where all adults and children live as equal individuals in a safe environment. HI is currently seeking a qualified and motivated person to work in the position of Technical Advisor.

Position type: Full Time

Duration: one year with possible of extending depending on the performance

Base location: Vientiane Capital

The Rights & Inclusion Technical Adviser will provide overall technical capacity building to the Rights and Inclusion Coordination Team and support to disabled people’s organizations (DPOs), Non-Profit Associations (NPAs) to develop their capacity to be sustainable and self-sufficient. To civil society organisations (CSOs), both local and international, the RITA will provide support for inclusive development, and put into practice inclusive policies taking into consideration disability governance in Lao PDR.

In HI’s Mekong programme (Lao PDR, Cambodia and Vietnam), the role of the RITA will be to support the Country Director and teams to strategically reflect on developing multi-country projects and provide the necessary capacity building to do so.

Main responsibilities and activities:

• Support and develop the skills of the Rights and Inclusion Coordinator in managing multiple programmes and managing staff through regular supervision and support.
• HI interventions in the field of rights and inclusion respect HI’s global positioning in the relevant sectors of intervention.
• HI teams and partners have gained technical capacities to implement the project strategy in a qualitative way.
• In collaboration with the MEAL team, the R&I C team receives appropriate support to collect, analyze and evaluate relevant data
• Develop relationship and exchanges with relevant organizations in Lao PDR and the region and develop strategic partnerships with INGOs.
• Collect lessons learnt from the projects, especially within Lao PDR, Vietnam and Cambodia

Desired qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study (Social Work, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, etc.)
• Minimum 4 years of experience working in INGO and minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical Support position.
• Fluent written and spoken Lao and English.
• Significant experience in the domain of disability inclusive development and/or support to civil society
• Good understanding and working knowledge of the UNCRPD & SDGs
• Proven skills in advisory/training tasks and transfer of competencies
• Proven skills in capitalization of training tools and methodologies.
• Networking skills at the grassroots and strategic levels.
• Diplomacy skills specifically in dealing with Ministries and Lao PDR context.
