POSITION: Regional Director for International Initiatives

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
BPSOS and People Serving People Foundation (PSPF) are looking for a Regional Director to support and oversee their joint operations in Thailand and Southeast Asia. BPSOS is a regional civil society organization working on human rights issues affecting communities across Southeast Asia. PSPF is a young and vibrant Thai foundation that focuses on promoting human rights, assisting vulnerable populations, and developing civil society in the ASEAN region. We currently work on several projects through partnerships with local and regional CSOs. The Regional Director for International Initiatives will be the face and voice of BPSOS and PSPF at national, regional and international forums, and will ensure that all objectives of our joint operations are pursued and achieved.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise all office programs and projects, including:
o Human rights and capacity building for civil society organizations in Southeast Asia
o Protection of at-risk human rights defenders and asylum seekers
o Regional and international advocacy initiatives
o Annual conference on freedom of religion or belief
o Partnership development with like-minded organizations
Supervise staff and strengthen local operations, by:
o Strictly enforcing standard operations procedures
o Implementing case management system and protocols
o Holding regular staff meetings, and meetings with BPSOS and PSPF
o Submitting monthly reports on progress and achievements
o Supporting all staff, fellows, and volunteers
Sustain and develop international initiatives
o Represent BPSOS and PSPF at national, regional and international forums held in the region
o Identify funding leads and new revenue streams, and work with BPSOS’ development team to develop grant proposals
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Solid project and personnel management experience
2. A first degree in any discipline
3. Fluency in English and one Southeast Asian language
4. 3-5 years in human rights work and working within civil society, preferably in Southeast Asia
5. Background or experience related to human rights advocacy
6. Experience working with a diverse and international team
7. Experience working with or on behalf of asylum seekers and refugees or vulnerable populations is a plus
8. Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills
9. Exceptional problem-solving and adaptation skills Location: Bangkok, Thailand Compensation: The Regional Director will be offered a locally competitive
