Social Worker and Field Coordinator (Social Advisor) – CHIANG MAI

Baan Dek Foundation is looking for a professional and dedicated local Social Worker and Field Coordinator (Social Advisor) who is committed to helping vulnerable children from marginalized communities in Chiang Mai.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Type of Contract: Full-time position, 1-year contract (renewable)

Location: Based in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Working hours: Monday to Friday (9am-7pm, with a flexible schedule) + occasionally on weekends

Salary: Starting 15,000 THB, depends on experience and qualifications. Benefits include         free lunch, transportation & phone allowance, etc.

Starting date: ASAP

Responsibilities include (but are not restricted to):

• Conduct in individual case management (involving a team of social workers)
• Social counseling to the children and their families and implementation of support plan through social work activities along their needs
• Preparation and coordination of field activities (life skills)
• Run field collective educational activities
• Monitor and report on social work activities
• Identify and develop partnerships with relevant local partners (schools, medical centers, social services, construction companies, etc.)
• Follow and promote Baan Dek Foundation’s Child Protection Policy.

 Qualifications:

Training: preferably a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (social work, social development, psychology,.)

Experience at least 6 months in project coordination / social work / child rights-based approach and educational activity / social and field coordinator are considerable assets.

Language skills: Fluent Thai (spoken and written) and English proficient speaking and writing skills. Burmese, Thai-Yai and / or Khmer considered as assets.

Other skills/interests: Fieldwork, committed to social work/child welfare and interested in non-profit work. teamwork ability, flexibility on working hours ,ability to understand family situations and conduct assessments.
