Senior Risk Management Specialist: Asia Region

Job Summary:

The Senior Risk Management Specialist develops, recommends and implements controls and cost-effective approaches to minimize the risks, and effects of those risks, to the organization. The specialist further identifies and analyzes potential sources of loss to minimize risk and estimates the potential financial consequences of an occurring loss as well as effect on reputation, credibility, and ministry effectiveness. This is a senior, career level professional. As such, the incumbent will perform expert-level in global risk management and is often called on to coach or oversee the work of junior level specialists.

Essential Job Functions:

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and managing international governance issues such as standard operating procedures, organizational performance metrics, dashboards, and workflows. Further, she or he identifies areas for simplification and/or automation to support the compliance of internal and external requirements. Evaluates the effectiveness of the company's internal control framework, addressing risks and carrying out Compassion’s risk mitigation goals and objectives as well as auditing risk management compliance in field locations. In addition, this specialist also provides training and technical support to management and employees regarding risk management strategies and programs. Coaches and provides expertise and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the risk management discipline.

Requisites:

• Mature Christian person, based on evangelical Christian values, has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is above reproach in integrity and honesty.
• Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
• Strategic and innovative mindset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree Risk Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Licenses and Certifications: Professional In Risk Management, Certification in Risk Management Assurance, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, or similar credential.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional experience working in risk management, audit, governance, or similar field involving international operations.
• Work Environment Office: Standard Office Environment.
• Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day.
• Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule.
