Position Description

POSITION TITLE:                            Stakeholder Engagement and Learning Specialist, Asia Counter Trafficking in Persons

LOCATION:                                      Bangkok, Thailand (other locations considered)

DEPARTMENT:                               Civic Engagement and Social Equity

REPORTS TO:                                Chief of Party, Asia Counter-Trafficking in Persons Program

Position Summary:

The goal of the USAID-funded Asia Counter Trafficking in Persons (USAID Asia CTIP) program is to reduce trafficking in persons in Asia through activities conducted under three components: 1) Strengthen learning around trafficking in persons and interventions; 2) Improve coordination and cooperation between source, transit and destination countries; 3) Leverage private sector engagement to reduce trafficking in persons in target sectors.

The Stakeholder Engagement and Learning Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies to achieve project goals and impact as well as support learning activities. The position is based in Bangkok, Thailand, and will require travel to other countries in the region as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and assist in development of stakeholder engagement strategies, including webinars, consultations, etc.
• Assist PO in creating project materials and tools for stakeholder engagement
• Monitor and support engagement and coordination of CSOs through Freedom Collaborative Platform and other systems and networks
• Coordinate collaborative learning opportunities/strategies around research & learning products
• Review and assist in drafting/editing learning and research reports/Learning Action Briefs
• Produce case studies, learning briefs, or technical papers as assigned/identified
• Assist and support in project learning activities such as the: design, implementation and evaluation of pilot programs to test evidence-based practices, harmonization of unified data management across projects; conduct field research at project sites as needed and gather learnings
• Produce quarterly newsletter
• Assist in coordinating advocacy efforts around research findings under the project
• Support development of information material on project progress and achievements
• Assist other CTIP projects in MEL activities/strategies or provide technical assistance as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:          University degree in development, statistics or related field; Master’s degree preferred

Technical:           Minimum of five years of experience in stakeholder engagement, learning and communication  

Skills/

Knowledge:       

• Knowledge or understanding of social, economic, and political context around human trafficking issues and analysis in Asia
• Fluency in written and spoken English language skills required
• Portfolio of excellent work that demonstrates expertise, creativity, and ability to change the “voice of writing” to fit varying audiences
• Demonstrated experience managing and executing multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment; experience with USAID project is an asset
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, creative problem solving, and conflict management skills
• Experience handling complex enquiries and interactions with multiple stakeholders
• Willingness to travel and work throughout the Asia region as needed
