 Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. With funding provided by the European Union for the project “Health and WASH services, Return preparedness and Capacity Strengthening for Refugees in the Thai –Myanmar Border Temporary Shelters”, our office located in Mae Sariang, is looking for efficient, motivated and experienced individuals for the position as Nurse Supervisor

Nurse Supervisor (1 position)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Contract Duration: 1 year

Work locations: Mae Sariang, Sob Moei District (Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary shelters)

Main Responsibilities/Duties

1. Monitor and supervise day-to-day nursing care activities to ensure quality nursing care
2. Conduct bedside teaching regularly with active participation from shelter staffs.
3. Provide technical and moral support to camp nurses
4. Supervise sterilization staffs, cooks, and cleaners to follow appropriate standards and procedures.
5. Plan and conduct refresher trainings
6. Conduct periodical appraisals for camp nurses and in-charge
7. Coordinate with other MI departments on clinical management, referral, and health related campaigns.
8. Submit monthly report to supervisors

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1. Nurse Degree holder with proven registration in home country with at least 3 year experience as nurse in government or private hospitals
2. Previous experience of working with refugees or as a nurse in a rural environment
3. Experience of conducting short (half day to a couple of days) training is an advantage
4. Open and enthusiastic to work in a multicultural and challenging environment with limited resources
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills in order to function well in the team
6. Good command of English and able to work using Sgaw Karen and/or Burmese language
