 Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. With funding provided by the European Union for the project “Health and WASH services, return preparedness and capacity strengthening for refugees in the Thai –Myanmar border temporary shelters”, our office located in Mae Sariang, is looking for efficient, motivated and experienced individuals for the position as Senior Clinical Supervisor.

Senior Clinical Supervisor (1 position)

Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Work locations: Mae Sariang, Sob Moei District (Mae La Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary shelters)

Salary Range: 65K + benefits (salary level will be set based on relevant experience, academic qualification, and medical specialization)

Main Responsibilities

1. Supervise Laboratory, Referral, Nurse and Clinical Supervisors (including the delivery units and midwife In-Charge) and their teams.
2. Monitor camp-based staff performance and the overall function and quality of services provided in agency-operated health facilities inside the shelters.
3. Oversee referral to Thai hospitals and follow-up patient care linked to UNHCR and IOM cases.
4. Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant protocols and ensure compliance among staff regarding correct use of forms and reporting documentation.
5. Oversee issuance of outbreak alerts, reporting for clinical response in case of disease outbreak.
6. Assess, train and improve capacity of curative health care staff based in shelters.
7. Prepare reports to supervisor on activities and achievements and as inputs for donor reporting.
8. Ensure data collected and entered in database is done correctly and timely.
9. Contribute with technical inputs for procurement, development of IEC materials and recruitment.
10. Participate in regular office meetings and external meetings with other NGOs, CBOs, UN or donors as needed.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1. Medical Doctor degree with proven registration in home country
2. 5-7 years of experience attending and treating patients in a clinic or hospital, at least 3 years’ clinical experience in rural settings/ health facility, experience with refugees is an advantage.
3. 2 – 3 years’ experience in supervisory position with (I)NGO or similar.
4. Prior experience with and confident in dealing with MCH-related clinical management in the delivery units.
5. Specialization in pediatrics, OB/Gyn, or infectious diseases considered a strong advantage
6. Proven training skills.
7. Willingness to live and work under very basic conditions (working in refugee shelters)
8. Excellent reading/writing of Burmese and English, good command of Sgaw Karen an advantage.
9. Good interpersonal and communication skill, known as a good team player.
