The Multimedia Officer (MST) will be part of a small Bangkok based team responsible for producing visual content (photography and video) to support digital platforms across three of Save the Children’s country programme offices – Myanmar, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Reporting to the Digital Manager (MST cluster), this role will use their multimedia production skills to help design engaging digital content which supports country office campaigning to achieve policy change and/or influence public behaviour which has a positive impact on the lives of children. They will do this in line with the Country Office’s strategic priorities and related advocacy, campaigns and communication strategies. They will also support country office teams create localised, engaging digital content and strategies in line with Save the Children’s global campaign priorities.
The Multimedia Officer’s duties will be to create innovative and effective digital content through film, graphics and photo stories that move audiences to take action to protect children’s rights across the MST cluster. They will be capable of independently producing a range of multimedia content for use across several social media platforms – and they will do this through several country visits throughout the year - and through content generated by in-country communications teams.
The role will also help build digital multimedia capacity within country office teams, support digital marketing strategies and help to produce regular reports on digital performance using social media analytics.

Scope of role: Regular contact with campaign and communications staff in three country offices. allied organisations, local campaigners and activists, and Save the Children staff from global, member and regional teams.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Digital Campaigning
- Support the design, production and digital delivery of Save the Children's priority campaigns in Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand, including planning, collection and production of digital content across all social media channels.
- Develop multimedia content to support MST wide campaign on corporal punishment and positive discipline. Work with local teams to build content that drives the campaign across all three countries.
- Support digital campaigning initiatives such as Youth Activate in Myanmar, with potential expansion of the project into Sri Lanka and Thai markets.
- Support country teams to localise global and regional digital content
- Help monitor and evaluate the performance of digital content . Ensure content is being driven by performance analytics.
Digital Content Production
- Develop and design of engaging, digital content across all three country offices to support priority campaigns. Includes video production, photo stories, graphics etc.
- Organise up to 6 content collection visits throughout the year across all three country offices. During these visits you will collect photo stories and video content to drive digital campaigns.
- Request multimedia content from country teams to support digital campaigns.
- Support country offices to develop their own regular digital content and posting schedules. This means helping to edit content and advise on content quality.
Capacity Building
- Help build the visual storytelling capacity of country office teams.
- Train local teams in photography and video skills

Digital Strategy
- Support sign off on weekly social media content plans from country offices, raising any issues with ACCM Director.
- Develop create ideas to bring our multimedia to the next level and support our digital marketing strategy to achieve significant audience growth across key digital channels
- Support Digital Manager monitor social listening across all three markets, focusing on increasing opportunities to speak out on priority issues – and as an early warning mechanism to manage risks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3 years’ experience in multimedia content production, with an emphasis on digital campaigning, digital marketing.
- Bachelor degree with relevant scope of work or having advance degree is desirable
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Professional experience in photography, videography and film editing, with a focus on creating multimedia for social media platforms.
- Experience designing and implementing digital campaign or marketing strategies.
- Experience in graphic design
- Experience in visual storytelling for human rights, development or social justice issues
- Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Good coordination and network management skills
- Proven ability to encourage innovation and team work.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation developing effective working relationships
- Excellent English communications skills, both written and oral
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
- Willingness to travel to field offices and work in challenging environments
Desirable
- Understanding of emerging digital rights issues within the region.
- Experience in content co-creation with children and youth.
- Experience in visuals storytelling across Myanmar, Sri Lanka or Thailand.
