Background and Purposes:

The World Wide Fund for Nature (formerly World Wildlife Fund (WWF)) aims to conserve nature and ecological processes by preserving biodiversity, ensuring sustainable use of natural resources and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful use of resources and energy. WWF works in more than 100 countries around the world. WWF has been working in Thailand since 1983 and WWF-Thailand was founded in 1995.

WWF-Thailand implements a strategy that harnesses the strengths of the WWF network to focus on four major goals - freshwater, wildlife, oceans, and forests, and three key drivers of environmental problems – markets, finance, and governance. In support of this strategy, WWF-Thailand works with government, business, civil society, and individuals to achieve our global goals for the benefit of the people of Thailand and the world. With an expanding program in Thailand, we are seeking a Senior General Accountant to help us achieve our new ambitious goals. The Senior General Accountant will support the Finance Department’s efforts in maintaining high standards of accounting. She/ He has full responsibility for month-end and year-end close. He or she is also responsible to ensure prompt submission of reports and data integrity. He or she is required to support the Head of Finance and IT to prepare management and statutory reports and to ensure the smooth operation of the day-to-day accounting operations in the unit
 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for month-end closing including staff costs allocation, shared costs allocations, inter-company offset, and monitoring of resource vs growth analysis, trial balance review and cleansing, bank and other balance sheet reconciliation.
• Responsible for year-end close and SWISS GAAP Adjustments 
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of accounting transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy  of data
• Responsible for financial planning and analysis in consultation with the Head of Finance and IT
• Support NPO data input annually
• Fixed Assets control and monitoring
• Prepare statutory reporting  to MOL- bi-annual and management reports (F2F and monthly management reports)
• Facilitate and support internal/ external and project audit
• Annual budget planning and support
• Other ad-hoc tasks as and when assigned by the Head of Finance and IT

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or possesses professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA
• Minimum 5 years working experience as a general accountant with month-end and year-end closing responsibilities
• Experience in preparation of management reporting and possesses good analytical skills
• Good in Excel and Pivot table
• Familiar with Oracle, SAP or any ERP software is a plus
• Accuracy and detail-oriented
• Knowledge of practices in nonprofit organizations is a plus.
• Good command level in English
