Assistant Coordinator - Basic Education Laos

Tasks
Assisting in Project Management of school and boarding house construction projects in Laos and suport Laos
team as require.

While travelling in Laos for field work (60%)

•  identifying new construction projects in Laos: building networks and relationships with communities, educators and government officials
• evaluating potential target communities: liaising with community leaders and teachers to obtain information, preparing project documentation and conducting needs analysis
• Project implementation and management: conducting field visits, supervising construction progress, monitoring and evaluation of construction projects
• Project and financial planning of constructions: prepare cost estimates, time frames, liaising with community leaders, teachers and partner organisations
• organising activities with beneficiaries on various topics

While staying in our office in Chiang Mai (40%)

• general office work using computer
• preparing and overseeing budgets and expenditures, evaluating and monitoring activities, outputs and outcome
• managing work related payments and receipts
• writing short reports and updates about construction projects in English
• planning and preparing monitoring and evaluation trips

Required Qualifications

• minimum bachelor degree / equivalent education
• 2-3 years of relevant working experience
• Driver`s license
• Thai or Laos national
• solid IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Power point, E-mail)
• Ability to work independently
• Proficiency in Laos language and good English skills required
• strong motivation to work for an NGO
• likes to travel (occasionally on weekends)
