Position Title:            System Analyst – Earthquake, Tsunami, and Ocean Systems (Thai Nationality)

Open Period:             21 Oct 2019-30 Nov 2019

Position Description: The System Analyst – Earthquake, Tsunami, and Ocean Systems supports the computing systems of the Earthquake, Tsunami, and Ocean Unit, ensuring system efficiency and security.  He/She shall be involved in system customization/ development, is part of an earthquake and tsunami investigation team that serves watch duty on rotational basis, and contributes to geospatial operations of the Unit, particularly in data preparation and in web-GIS application development. 

Duty Station:             RIMES Regional Facility, Asian Institute of Technology campus, Pathumthani, Thailand

Type of Contract:       Full-time staff

Remuneration and Benefits:

• Monthly base salary negotiable, commensurate with qualifications

• Annual leave allowance of 24 days

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge:          At least Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, information and communication technology, or related field

Experience:          At least 2 years of experience in system administration; experience in computer networking and security; experience in Unix/Linux operating systems desired, but not required

Skills and Abilities:  Strong analytical, problem solving, and multitasking skills; demonstrated ability to plan and organize work independently; sound judgment and reasoning ability; excellent written and verbal English communication skills.  

Personal Qualities:  Excellent inter-personal skills and team-oriented work style; high level of patience and professionalism; ability to remain calm when dealing with crisis; ability to keep confidential matters private; interest in working in a multi-cultural environment; strong desire to learn; willingness to work hard; a good sense of humor and fun, but with seriousness on the quality and excellence of work
