Duration 3 Months ( at least 3 days a week in office)

Salary Range 25,000 THB to 40,000THB (depending on the skill level)
About ZSL
The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s purpose is to inspire, inform and empower people to stop wild animals from going extinct. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action.
Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Consultant to assist our finance officer in preparing for and responding to our financial audit in January/February 2024. The consultant will serve as an internal auditor, ensuring that our financial records, processes, and systems are audit-ready and comply with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Voucher and Financial Record Review: Conduct a thorough examination of financial vouchers, ensuring all expenditures are accurately recorded and supported with appropriate documentation. This includes verifying the authenticity of receipts, checking for proper authorization, and ensuring compliance with financial policies for Year 2022- 2023.
- Contract and Agreement Analysis: Review project agreements and contracts to ensure financial terms and conditions are adhered to. This involves scrutinizing funding agreements, subcontractor contracts, and other legal financial documents for compliance with both internal policies and external regulations. If required, prepare document to assist Officer in ensuring the guidelines are stored.
- Financial Process Knowdge sharing: Develop and deliver sessions for ZSL staff on finance procedures and best practices. This includes provide training session for team members on proper voucher management, contract adherence, budget tracking, and financial reporting requirements.
- Audit Preparation and Response: Work closely with the finance officer to prepare for the financial audit. This involves organizing financial statements, resolving discrepancies, and preparing detailed reports. Provide comprehensive support during the audit process, including responding to auditors' inquiries and clarifications.
- Process Improvement Recommendations: After a thorough review of current financial practices, propose improvements to enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance. This may involve suggesting new software tools, streamlining workflow processes, or updating financial policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in audit preparation, voucher management, and contract analysis.
- Experience in providing training and developing financial procedures.
- Familiarity with the non-profit sector and its funding mechanisms is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Proficiency in Thai is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
