Southeast Asian Minister of Education Organization Regional Centre for STEM Education (SEAMEO STEM-ED)
SEAMEO STEM-ED is a regional inter-governmental organization among governments of Southeast Asian countries, hosted by the Government of Thailand, with a mission to uplift the capacity and capabilities in STEM education in Southeast Asia. Through partnerships with our region-wide networks, including SEAMEO member and affiliate countries, public and private institutions, and non-profit educational influencers, SEAMEO STEM-ED affirms our commitment to the advancement of STEM education in Southeast Asia.
To accommodate upcoming regional STEM education projects in SEAMEO Member Countries, SEAMEO STEM-ED is inviting candidates to fill the position below.
Accounting Assistant
1. Category “General Service” category,
2. Term of Appointment: Three years, renewable
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of Administration Manager, the Accounting Assistant shall perform the following tasks:
- Review all financial documents related to petty cash, advance payments, vendor payments and budget approvals to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Notify requesters once budget requests or other financial matters have been approved by the Centre Director, manage the scanning and filing of all supporting documents for organisational records.
- Monitor and manage petty cash requests, ensuring they comply with budget limits before disbursement.
- Conduct in-person bank transactions, including international transfers, petty cash replenishment, fund deposits, and opening or closing bank accounts.
- Handle banking activities such as fund withdrawals, currency exchange, and transfers, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Liaise with relevant banks to provide required documents for applications of the system makers, administrators and authorisers.
- Prepare per diem, travel allowance and reimbursement claims.
- Assist in preparing invoices for donors and external parties, ensuring accurate financial documentation.
- Collaborate with the accounting and administration teams to assist in asset control and management, ensuring all assets are tracked and properly documented.
- Provide support in other financial or administrative tasks as assigned by the Accounting Officer or Administration Manager.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Higher Vocational Certificate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (such as Express) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in both Thai and English.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Willingness to take on additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong ethics and commitment to integrity and confidentiality.
