Position: Access and Protection Manager (Thai National Only)

Location: Mae Sot, Tak, Thailand

Type: Full Time

Contract Length: 1 Year (3-Month Probation Review)

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Reports To: Deputy Director

DESCRIPTION

For high-quality, inclusive, and equitable educational opportunities (as outlined in UNESCO’s 4th Sustainable Development Goal) to be provided for all children, InEd looks to close the gap through contextualized capacity building, educational system strengthening, community-based solutions, and data-driven advocacy. Through ongoing research, we seek to continually improve our projects and evidence both our impact and the challenges faced in marginalized communities. We also want to give back to communities in need. Through fundraising, we are committed to responding to needs in our communities as they arise: ensuring we stay relevant and always listening to community voices.

Based in Mae Sot, Thailand, the Access and Protection Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing InEd's mission by strengthening strategic partnerships and driving impactful education initiatives. This position leads coordination and advocacy efforts to improve educational access and protection.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Advocacy & Representation: Lead high-level advocacy with Thai government agencies and remove systemic barriers to education, and ensure the protection of vulnerable populations.
  • Program & Work Plan Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of all access and protection work plans. Ensure activities align with organizational strategy and meet donor compliance standards.
  • Protection Oversight: Expand the program’s scope beyond enrollment to include broader child protection and safeguarding frameworks, ensuring that out-of-school and at-risk children are identified and supported through integrated case management.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain formal partnerships with senior public school administrators, community leaders, and NGO partners to create a cohesive network for inclusive education and protection services.
  • Financial & Resource Management: Manage program budgets, including forecasting, resource allocation, and financial reporting. Ensure logistical efficiency across all project sites.
  • Team Leadership & Initiative: Supervise and mentor project staff. Take the lead on identifying gaps in current services and proactively design new initiatives or pilot projects to address emerging needs.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): Collaborate with senior management to develop advocacy materials and policy briefs based on data-driven insights to influence national-level educational and protection policies.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the education sector, with a focus on advocacy, program management or policy engagement.
  • Demonstrated management and coordination skills, including the ability to plan strategically, meet deadlines, and oversee projects effectively.
  • Proven experience in liaising with government departments, with the ability to gain credibility among senior officials while constructively challenging the status.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working in cross-cultural, multicultural, or international settings.
  • Strong team collaboration abilities, coupled with the capacity to work independently and take initiative.
  • Project management skills (considered a strong asset), including the ability to work under pressure, adapt to dynamic environments, and deliver results.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for policy briefs, advocacy materials, and public presentations in Thai and English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptable to learning new digital platforms and tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required for project needs.

VALUES

  • Detail-oriented and excellent time management.
  • Able to work independently to problem-solve.
  • Promotes accountability and high performance
  • Is a responsible role model who sets ambitious and challenging goals for themselves and the InEd team.
  • Builds and maintains strong professional relationships with team members, education partners, and local communities.
