Project Assistant: Food Quality & Safety

with

Scholars of Sustenance

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Start Date: ASAP

Requirements:

    Thai Nationality

    Excellent English

    Microsoft Proficient

    Ability to work with community

 

Qualifications:

     Education in Food Science or Experience working in large kitchen required

     HACCP training prefered

    Ability to do some training and provide educational materieals on food safety and cooking

     Self-starter, able to mange a small team

    Comfortable with field data collecting

Job Description:

You will be responsible for the quality of the food we provide to SOS recipients. 

You will create systems for the entire supply chain of food from donors to individuals, which will adhere strictly with local standards of food safety and quality. 

 

This system for safe redistribution and reuse of food will include, and is not limited to; guidelines on what SOS will and will not accept, training for donors on how to select & manage their storage of donations prior to pick-up, how to safely transport the food, how to safely separate the food, how to handles it’s redistribution, and work with recipient communities to ensure they have everything they need to safely consume the donation.

You will oversee this aspect of the operation once the system is in place, advise on inventory, needs, and issues along the supply chain. You will be held responsible for its success based upon quality of food supplied. 

You will be held responsible for on pick-up data collection, including, weight, quality, nutritional value, and items donated.

 

You will create educational material and signage for kitchens and communities.

Responsible of training a staff of 2 in food safety.

 

Work Time

As needed, minimum 40 hours per week, no overtime pay. 

Vacation 3 weeks (15 days) and 14 public holidays. 

Sick leave with doctor’s proof after 3-day period, up to maximum 20 days.

Probation period of 90 days.

 

Compensation:

XX,000 THB Monthly 

Plus 1,000 Baht per month towards Wi-Fi, computer use, and cell phone data (SOS requires you to be online often). 

Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed as incurred. 

This salary will be paid in Thailand on the last working day of each month, subject to Thai taxes and other government related deductions, if any.
